Our SAIT tax articles programme
Omne, formerly known as The Tax House, has been a key player in nurturing and creating tax professionals throughout the country. In collaboration with The South African Institute of Tax Professionals (SAIT), Omne offers a learnership programme that guides and mentors aspiring tax professionals to become qualified General Tax Professionals or Tax Advisors (NQG level 8). Omne obtained the accreditation as a practical skills and workplace training provider in 2017. Consequently, some of our Tax team have already successfully completed the programme and achieved a well recognized tax professional designation.
The qualification involves the following stages:

The knowledge component where a candidate must complete a Taxation Honours, Higher Diploma in Taxation or equivalent and thereafter write a knowledge competency assessment;
2
The practical skills component which can be attained at certain tertiary institutions, or by an accredited workplace training provider like Omne, and involves on the job training and experience in all fields of tax from compliance to dispute resolution right through to tax opinions, international tax and estate planning;
3
The workplace experience component, which is like a “Tax Articles”. This involves the learners completing a training contract with an accredited workplace training provider like Omne; and
4
A final integrated assessment must be passed. This is in the form of a national qualifying exam.

Molebatji's Experience
Molebatji is a Tax Trainee who will be doing her SAIT traineeship with Omne. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and an Honours degree in Taxation from the University of Johannesburg.
