Candice has been actively involved in SME training with SAICA and has regularly presented at the Annual Tax Indaba hosted by the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT). She’s authored tax features in notable publications, such as Women and Home and South Africa’s leading tax journal, TaxTalk! She’s a panellist on the Xero ‘tax task force’, and her articles have featured on Moneyweb and other media platforms. Sometimes, you can even catch her giving tax tips for small businesses or individuals on radio stations, such as Cape Talk 702.
Aside from her professional career, Candice’s greatest passion lies in being involved in the technical and professional development of the team. She takes joy in mentoring brilliant individuals, stimulating their growth into capable advisors. Candice’s skill set mainly focuses on tax specialist services, such as tax risk analysis, tax structuring, emigration, estate planning, trusts and international tax, but also extends to financial reporting as well. Being the bubbly personality that she is, Candice heads the marketing division of the business too.
Candice had a watershed moment in 2017 when her partner, Simon White, suggested she attend a Xero conference in the UK. Our exploration into cloud technologies was underway, and this conference paved the way for Omne’s direction as a business. Candice returned from her trip with a newfound eagerness for real-time accounting and time-saving technologies, which propelled us into a world of superpowered reporting and facilitated small businesses’ growth and profits.
When she’s not engaging in world-class accounting, Candice loves spending her time on a mountain bike or walking on the beach. Her home is where her heart is, and having a house full of loved ones is her happy place.
